Scamp Acquired

Back in May of this year, we accidentally fell in love with a fiberglass travel trailer while looking at Airstreams being displayed in Vallejo. We found out about the work Sue Tipp does at napavalleyvintagetrailers.com and contacted her to see if we could view some of the trailers she restored. She said she was having a showing in Vallejo, so we toodled on up to have a look. When we got there, we quickly realized that the car we were driving wouldn’t be able to pull any of the big silver trailers. We would need a ginormous truck. But then we saw the little white one, stepped inside, and quickly knew we would find a way to have it.

Our first view of the Scamp

It was Sue’s first trailer and she had taken the carpet out and installed a fake hardwood floor.  She also had reupholstered the cushions with some very groovy fabric.

Scamp actually belonged to a friend of hers, and he had done some other things to customize the trailer like painting the rims on the wheel hubs red.

Red rims can make a 1985 trailer look vintage.
